Expectations: Every child is expected to do his or her best in class and will succeed.  Work is to be turned in on time and completed with quality. It is important to instill and encourage a work ethic that will allow your child to succeed in his or her future.  The class room is a safe space for students to discuss and share ideas. Every child is expected to participate.

Attendance:  Please send a note with your child any time they miss school.  If you are taking your child out of school early for any reason, please send a note letting me know what time they will be leaving.  This will help your child, the class, and me prepare for their departure more smoothly.

Homework: Homework will be assigned every night except on Friday.  However, if your student is behind in a subject or not turning in assigned homework consistently, then homework packets will be sent on Friday.  This is to ensure your child understands the concepts taught in class and can continue to be successful throughout the year.

Assignments and Projects: All assignments and projects are due on the date they are assigned.  Assignments will be given in advance so students have plenty of time to complete the activity with quality.  Projects and assignments turned in late will drop a letter grade for each day late.

Miscellaneous:.

Every Friday, your child will be coming home with a behavior report.  Please look it over, initial the form, and have your student return it on Monday.  The report is a way to let parents/guardians know how their child is doing in school.

Science: Our first unit is life science, specifically ecosystems.  Students will build an ecosystem in class and observe the ecosystem for several weeks.  If you have any one 2 liter bottles around, please donate them to our class.  They need to be empty and clean.   We use the liter bottles to house the plants and fish.   Thank you.
